We are now OFFICIALLY and LEGALLY married!!!
We had a beautiful ceremony by British Columbia marriage commissioner Laurie Smith. Laurie Smith was the first marriage commissioner to register a same-sex marriage in British Columbia after same-sex marriage became legal. (Another commissioner beat her to the ceremony but she was quicker registering the marriage.)
In four to six weeks, the marriage certificate will be sent to the home of a North Vancouver resident who is friends with our dear friend Nora.
It was wonderful to hear the words "by the authority vested in me by British Columbia..."
Yes, I'll say it again. We're legally married American-Canadians.
