Independence Day Wedding

Happy July 4th. Neither Luis nor I will ever be able to forget our the anniverary of our legal wedding -- July 4, 2008.
We're getting married later today at the
Earle Clarke House
in Victoria. British Columbia Marriage commissioner Laurie Smith will be driving a somewhat long distance to marry us. She was on the forefront of the push for same-sex marriage in Canada.
The owners of the B&B, Joyce Kline and Peter Such, will be our witnesses. We'll have a string duo playing classical music. Then we'll enjoy lemon cake and champagne and go out to a nice restaurant.
It's somewhat of a dreary day, not unlike the day of our commitment ceremony on Long Island. But that's a typical morning in Victoria. Usually, the sun will warm things up and it will clear up.
